Robert A. Royer is a shareholder with Scanlon & Gearinger
Company, LPA. He represents injury victims in cases involving
truck, motorcycle, and automobile collisions, defective products,
workplace injuries, and medical negligence. His practice includes other civil litigation, including insurance disputes and Will contests.
Bob graduated magna cum laude from Allegheny College
in 1981 and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law
degree with honors from The Ohio State University College
of Law in 1984. He has been with Scanlon & Gearinger since
that time, becoming a shareholder in 1991.
Bob has lectured at seminars for practicing lawyers and at classes for the University of Akron School of Law, the Akron Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine. He was also a contributor to a professional journal, Handling Motor Vehicle Accident Claims: Forms.
Bob has been awarded the highest ratings for both legal ability and ethics by Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Ratings System. He has successfully litigated numerous personal injury cases, many of which involved
defective products
including consumer items (such as automobiles) and workplace products (such as power presses). Bob is a member of the Product Liability Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
In October, 2007, Bob was selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Product Liability Litigation.
Bob is active with Ducks Unlimited, dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of wetland habitat for waterfowl and other wildlife. Bob is an avid fisherman, a part-time hockey player, and a slow but determined distance runner. Bob resides in the Akron area with his wife and two children.
